Monday 17th August

 Morena everyone!

Have a great day!

Mavis has been working hard on lots of projects with her family

Look what Mavis has been doing over the last few days.

She did some Maths, Alphabet and Writing.

Mavis was very curious about the cup of water changing from a liquid to a solid and back to a liquid again by placing it in the freezer for half an hour.

She did lots of cooking/baking and science.

What a good chef you are, Mavis!

Mrs Burge would like the recipe for this mushroom dish - it looks delicious! Maybe you could send her it so she can make it with her family!

Mavis and her family have filled their days with lots of projects and plans.

Friday 14th August

 Good morning from Miss Robertson

Feel free to comment or email your teachers about what you have been doing at home.

Have a great day everyone!

Welcome to Thursday 8th August 2020

Have a great day

Wednesday 12th August

Hello from Miss Robertson at home!

Follow the link to find lots of fun maths!

Little Chicks

Last week Mrs Robinson brought in some baby chicks from her farm. Room 9 and 6 children were so excited to see the little chicks.

We waited patiently for our turn to gently pat the little chick and look at how cute it was!

We listened very quietly so that we could hear the chicks talking to each other. Then we had a go at making the same noise a bit like this, "peep peep peep peep!"

Past, Present and Future

Our Inquiry Unit is called Past, Present and Future. As part of this, we are looking at Communication and how we communicated over time.

Mrs Harding brought in some old phones she had at home.

She brought in a very old telephone that you have to turn a dial to ring the number you would like.

Mrs Harding dialled the number and Daniel had a chat on the phone.

Mrs Harding also brought in her tiny little old Nokia phone which had buttons you had to press to dial. You could only call or text on this phone....no internet!

Mrs Harding also had a pebble phone that flipped open to show us.

There were walkie talkies too that people could use to talk to each other from far away.
Tohu and Mrs Harding had a chat together!

Ask your grandparents how they communicated with whanau when they were young and see if it has changed compared to now.

Welcome to Cooper

On Monday Cooper had his first day at school.

Welcome to Sunnyhills School Cooper.

Term 3 Week 1

 Wow! Already Term 3!!

It's great to have you all back at school and hear about the wonderful things you all got up to in the holidays.

On Monday we had 6 new children join Room 9 and 6.

Welcome to Renee, Kayla, Angela, Brighton, Yvonne and Mavis!

They have settled in super fast, joining in and making friends with the other children in the class.
A super start to school!

We had a visit from our buddies in Room 18 on Friday and we had a lovely time sitting in the courtyard, listening to and reading stories.
